The Gold Star Mission works to ensure higher education is a possibility for the family and friends of Illinois Service Members who have lost their lives in service to our country.
Beginning with the 2017 award year, Gold Star Mission will award 34 scholarships to individuals who exemplify selfless service and honor our Fallen Heroes. The Gold Star Mission allocates funds raised through the Gold Star 500 endurance bicycle ride to support the Gold Star Mission Scholarship Fund.
